Washington, D.C. – Representative Heath Shuler released the following statement this
morning regarding President Bush’s State of the Union address.
“Last night in his State of the Union address President Bush called for many things –
from to a real commitment to alternative energy to balancing the budget to making health
care more affordable for working Americans. However, these are all items we have heard
him talk about before, and the American people are tired of talk. Now, we need action.”
“I look forward to working with members of both parties to move this Congress beyond
partisan differences and solve the serious issues facing our nation.”
