Grant will Ensure Safe Drinking Water for Thousands
Washington, D.C. – Representative Heath Shuler today announced that the town of
Clyde, NC will receive a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help
ensure clean and safe drinking water.
The $264,175 grant will be used to assist the installation of 12,500 feet of pipe for a new
drinking water interconnection between the water distribution systems for Clyde and
Canton.
“When we turn on our faucets in our homes we expect the water to be safe, clean, and
drinkable,” Rep. Shuler said. “This grant is an excellent example of how the federal
government can work with our local governments and help our communities.”
Joy Garland, Town Administrator of Clyde was excited by the news of the grant. “This
EPA grant will help ensure that this important project is completed on time and that safe
drinking water is being delivered to the residents of Clyde. We are extremely grateful for
the hardwork and commitment Representative Shuler showed to this project.”
